Embark on a short ferry trip that will cruise through a freshwater lake to bring you to 35 acres Orang Utan Island, nestled away within the perimeter of the eco-friendly Bukit Merah Laketown Resort. Encounter Orang Utans at Orang Utan Island Rehabilitation Sanctuary.
Learn about Orang Utans and their behaviors, as well as take a humbling walk along their enclosure which cages the humans instead of the apes. Peer out of the enclosure and you will see Orang Utans freely roaming around wherever they please, living out their happy lives on the island.
Stop for lunch at own expenses in Taiping. Visit the Taiping Lake Gardens, one of the oldest and most beautiful parks in the country. Adjourn to visit Perak Museum established in the late 1880s, one of the oldest museum in Peninsular Malaysia. It is located in the town of Taiping, about 85 km from Ipoh, the capital of Perak. It holds a mixed bags of historical and archaeological gems with even remains of animals and artefacts.
